Rocks Off Goes Tubing!

Here at Rocks Off, we work hard.......very hard, but we also know how to play hard too!

So we thought we'd pack up a van full of you guys and head upstate for a day of tubing on the creek whilst taking in the beautiful view of the Catskills Mountains whilst we're at it.

Who wants to bother with organising a day out like this, that's why we've done all the hard work for you!
For $49, we'll drive you upstate, go tubing, grab a bite to eat in Woodstock after (be sure to bring beer money!) and head back to the city much better friends!

Sound good?

Invite your friends, we can't wait!

--------------------------------------------------------

Here at Rocks Off, we spend so much time ON the water, we sometimes feel the need to be IN the water (but not in that river!) so we thought it'd be a great idea to have a day out at Town Tinker Tubing in Upstate New York and float our cares away............

Obviously with something like this, it's always better in a big group, so we wanted to do a group day out and get our Rocks Off on the creek!

So, we'll be hiring a van, loading it up with some great tunes, snacks and great people for some fun on the creek!

Town Tinker Tubing is located in Phoenicia, Upstate New York and long since the days of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, the image of floating down a river on a hot summer day has always created a sense of adventure!

Located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains is a five-mile stretch of river that has become one of the most popular tubing courses around. People come from all over to ride the rapids and drift with the current as the Esopus Creek winds through the beautiful mountains and greenery of the Catskills.

Here's the run-down of how the day will pan out:

9:00am - Meet at Rocks Off Headquarters - Skyport Marina at E.23rd Street and FDR Drive

9:30am - Depart and head Upstate

12:00pm - Arrive at Town Tinker and get slippery and wet!

4:30pm - Depart and head to the historic area of downtown Woodstock for a bite to eat (be sure to bring beer money!) before heading back to the city taking in the beautiful view along the way!

All being well, we'll be back in the city and dropping back off at E.23rd Street and FDR around 8:00pm, but hell, it'll be a Saturday night and we may all want to stop off for a beer on the way (after all we would've just spent a day together in our almost underwear!) so please be prepared to arrive back a little later than advertised.

Town Tinker Tubing reccommend the following safety precautions:

1.
Children must be 12 years old and good swimmers.

2.
Bathing suits or shorts and a shirt to protect against sunburn are appropriate attire.

3.
Everyone must wear old sneakers, Teva’s, or water shoes to protect their feet.

4.
Helmets are recommended for everyone and required for those 14 years old and under.

5.
Wetsuits are recommended due to the cold-water temperature, usually under 60°F.

6.
Eyeglass retainers are a must for those wearing glasses.

7.
Do not take valuables (rings, jewelry, etc.) or car keys with you in the creek. Key and article check available.

8.
Tube with a friend or in a group so as to have help in case of an emergency.

9.
Steer away from fallen trees as the swift current may trap you in the branches. It is essential to navigate, which is accomplished by paddling with your hands and kicking with your feet. Stay in the middle of the river or the deepest running water where you'll have fewer obstacles to deal with.

10.
If you fall out of a tube, don't panic! Grab the tube! It's a flotation device and will keep your head above water. Once you have the tube, place it in front of you, down-river, and use it as a cushion between you and anything you might run into. Let your legs trail behind you and swim behind the tube to avoid hitting your legs on submerged rocks. If you are unable to grab hold of the tube, position yourself so that you are going downstream feet first, not head first, and maneuver yourself over to the bank or other place of safety.
