Workout
New York City, 2011. Here, in the city where the drive to have a great time is tempered by the necessity of the hustle, where the urge to do more than just exist stimulates the work required to become something bigger, where the importance of the night and the danger it presents is embraced, loved, feared...here is where WORKOUT lives, fraternizes, dreams, and (for three of the four members) sells beer for a day job.

And as a fourteen percent barleywine can unlock doors of perception, WORKOUT's unreleased debut album unveils a world where love is hard (and completely useless), money is coveted (and blown), life is mean (and you're the dickhead), and burdens are endured (or self-imposed). These song were written for the haunted, the desperate, the unwanted, and have become anthems for the cult followers who know them. They are stories that plot a course down the long, tough road and if you've walked it you'll find yourself somewhere in the second verse, speeded on by victorious riffs that prevail with all the pomp and circumstance of a royal coronation and guitar solos with enough balls to withstand testicular cancer.

The band demur from naming any musical influences, knowing how the press tends to arbitrarily knight or eviscerate with the double-edged sword of such revelation. They did, however, let it slip that when they invited the lad insane to kimono their house for breakfast in America, he turned out to be an excitable boy and took off like a bat out of hell...

Along with that, they offer a warning: Come see the show, but please note that the band are not liable for any side effects that may include profuse sweating, abandonment of inhibitions, seizures of raucous revelry, and possibly severe letting down of guard.

Mick's Jaguar
Mick's Jaguar

Mick's Jaguar is the best Rolling Stones revival band to come out of Gowanus, Brooklyn. No mere cover act, Mick's Jaguar take the legendary Stones sound and Americanize it in a Black Flag on salvia sort of way. Mick's Jaguar is hatchet rock. They enjoy dining at the Pizza Hut/Taco Bell/Dunkin Donuts trifecta spot around the corner from their practice hut underneath the BQE. Their drummer is jazz trained. RIYL: Bud Light tall boys, Budweiser tall boys, Tecate cans, Jack Daniel's, Jim Beam, $7 pitchers of Coors Light and chicken wings at the Wing Hut, Arecibo Car Service. Mick's Jaguar in your face!
